Guardianships may involve a minor child or an incompetent adult. They may be over just a person, or just an estate of the person, or both.

Adoptions may be the result of a long desired wish to have a child, or they may involve a step-parent, or third party who is stepping forward to take responsibility of a child.  

Our office has experience with private adoptions in a variety of circumstances. Some adoption involve continued contact with the birth parents. Other adoptions are closed and no contact occurs after the adoption is finalized.
